For beginners, we recommend a size Medium Soft (MS).
 
They come in a plastic container for shipping. To protect them from chipping and mold, we recommend storing them in a Reed Case.
 
Since Bassoon reeds require soaking prior to playing. It's recommended to soak reeds in a cup with distilled water instead of in the mouth to lengthen the life of the reed. We sell Jones Soaker Cups that clip right onto the standard music stand used in middle and high schools (the Manhasset stand), and have a lid, which are both great to prevent spilling.
